National Institute of Technology Silchar invites applications in prescribed format from Indian Nationals possessing consistently good academic record and requisite qualifications for the IPDF admission in the following departments.

  • Department of Humanities and Social Sciences

Note: No change of Department and mentor(s) will be entertained after the submission of the application form.

Filling up the application form

  • Read the instructions carefully.
  • Application Form comprises of following sections:

  • Persons employed in government / non-government / private organizations should upload the release order/NOC as single PDF in the Professional experience section. The original release order/NOC must be submitted at the time of interview.
  • All supporting document must be in PDF format. No other format are accepted.
  • Photo and signature must be in JPG/JPEG format. No other formats are accepted.
  • After completion of the form, the candidate has to click on "Preview and Submit" to submit the application form.
  • To download the application form login to the portal.
  • Please note that the candidature of the applicant will not be considered unless the application is submitted, for this applicant has to click “Preview & Submit” button.
  • It is mandatory to send the final submitted Application form in the e-mail ipdf_nitsilchar@nits.ac.in on or before 30.11.2025 with a subject line “Application for IPDF program Winter Session 2025-Name of the department”. No need to send the hard copy of the Application form.

Fee details

  • ST/SC/PWD candidate has to pay non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 500.00.
  • OBC/UR/EWS candidate has to pay non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 1000.00.

Payment method

  • Non – refundable processing fees of ₹ 1,000.00 for UR/OBC/EWS candidates & ₹ 500.00 for SC/ST/PWBD candidates to be paid directly through online payment SB Collect portal at State Bank of India (https://www.onlinesbi.com). Follow the Instructions given below for making your payments.
    1. Access https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm
    2. Select Type of Category as "Educational Institutions"
    3. Select State as "Assam"
    4. Select the Name of the institution as "Online Fee collection account NIT Silchar"
    5. Select the payment category as "Processing fee for IPDF Admission Winter 2025"
    6. Fill the necessary fields
  • Note: SBI verifies valid permanent address. Please provide valid permanent address to the SBI Collect.
  • No other modes of payment are accepted.

General Instructions

  1. All qualification, experience and age will be recognized as on the last date of submission of online application.
  2. The prescribed qualification and experience are minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.
  3. No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates, who are not called for interview.
  4. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of candidature.
  5. Legal disputes, if any, will be restricted within the jurisdiction of Silchar Court only.
  6. All reserved category candidates shall be required to submit self-attested copies of the latest Caste certificate issued by competent authority at the time of interview, if called for. Applicants belonging to OBC (NCL) / EWS category will have to submit latest OBC (NCL) / EWS certificate from Competent Authority in prescribed format as per Government of India norms. Similarly, PWBD candidates shall be required to submit proof of disability mentioning the percentage of disability issued by the Competent Authority
  7. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of submitted information/documents and photograph. It is the responsibility of the applicant to assess his/her own eligibility to the post in accordance with the advertisement.
  8. If any fraudulent information is detected in future, his/her candidature/admission shall be liable to be cancelled/terminated immediately without assigning any reason thereof.
  9. Candidates are requested to provide their active email Id / contact details in the application form for seamless communication.
